I'll never forgive CN for that to this day. The #1 thing I hated about Cartoon Network in 2004 was getting rid of Looney Tunes. So there was still good variety in late 2004 and even 2005, but not as good as 2001-early 2004 when everything was perfect.Ģ006 when it officially started to collapse IMO, after Teen Titans and Justice League Unlimited ended, shows I weren't interested in like Squirrel Boy and My Gym Panther's A Monkey were being played more often, and the live-action started with Re-Animated movie. I actually liked Miguzi because of Code Lyoko, Static Shock, Totally Spies, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003 version). 20 were the only good years with the abbreviated "CN" logo IMO, because of the fact that Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Codename: KND, and Ed Edd n Eddy new episodes were still being made which saved everything, along with Teen Titans, Justice League Unlimited, and Naruto around on Toonami Saturday nights. That was the era's biggest weakness.Īlso, after the final seasons of Powerpuff Girls and Johnny Bravo (which aired throughout 2004 BTW), there were barely any Cartoon Cartoons played except for late night hours or some weekdays, and then you had to tune into a Cartoon Cartoon Show or CN Top 5 block during the weekends just to catch random Cartoon Cartoons segments and it sucked. The only shows that started in the City that I liked were Megas XLR (which was epic), Foster's Home (same creator as Powerpuff Girls), Ben 10, and Camp Lazlo (same creator as Rocko's Modern Life), the rest of the shows were mediocre or awful like Juniper Lee, My Gym Panther's A Monkey, Pet Alien, Baby Looney Tunes, and Squirrel Boy which I could not stand. Just to let you know, the 1997-2004 era of Cartoon Network is known as the "Powerhouse". It was the only cartoons channel we had in air here till 2004-2005 when Disney Channel was added to the service, so i grew up mainly with cartoon network and those shows and every time i remember that, i feel like my chilhood was awesome (even tho i didn't had many toys or things to do because 2001's Crysis and my fathers losing their home in a scam) just because of those cartoons. I was feeling so happy that night, and sure as hell can't remember why. Then later that nigth watching one of Droopy which was only aired at that hour or around that hour here. Italy? the one with a scene of Tom & Jerry teaming up against other 3 rats (or cats? i don't remember) and using cheeses. I don't know why but i remember one specific night in summer (around 2001-2002 i guess, so i was 3-4 yo) that wasn't that warm (i live in Argentina so summers are pretty warm generally speaking), it was like 3am or so and i was watching Tom & Jerry's episode where they're in. I remember these summer nights, watching shows like Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo, Dexter's Laboratory, I Am Weasel, Cow and Chicken, Johnny Bravo, Ed, Edd n' Eddy, Mike, Lu & Og, Courage the Coward dog, Time Squad, Sheep in the Big City, Grim & Evil (and latter Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy), Pókemon, Droopy, The Flintstones (and Supersonics), Looney Toons, and a lot more that i'm sure i'm missing.
